Sunflowers, floppy hats and sunnies.. The recipe to a perfect Sunday afternoon..

Warning: #Flowerporn ahead.

When photos of Allied Botanical Corporation‘s newest attraction started circulating online, I knew I had to go there before my month-long vacation in the Philippines comes to an end and fulfill my sunflower & garden maze dreams. It’s like hitting two birds with one stone.

We were so lucky our timing was good, if not the best. All the flowers are in full bloom. This is definitely one for the books. It has always been a dream to me and being a huge fan of Nicole Warne and Katy Perry fueled my dream even more. Imagine my happiness.

Running around with my trusty floppy hat and sunnies, not minding the sun at its highest peak. I used to be too conscious about it since my skin tans easily and takes forever to get fairer. Growing up, society taught me to believe that only fair skin is beautiful. But now, I’ve grown to love my own color. Aside from the fact that it makes you look “toned” when you bare some skin, there’s nothing more empowering than being able to accept and even love yourself for just being you(*brings out the #TEAMmorena #melaninpoppin hashtags* lol). As cliche as it sounds, it’s what sets you apart from everyone. At this age, one of the best things I’ve realized is that nothing makes you cooler, or more beautiful than staying true to yourself. You don’t have to comply to the norms or different standards of other people. Just do and be what you think is right and everything will simply go your way, without trying too hard.

Au naturel.

(I know, I digress a lot.)

Watch us play tag inside the labyrinth, yeah?
